What Have I Become !!

Welcome to the wild world of quilting! It may seem like a calm and peaceful pastime, but let me tell you, things can get crazy in the quilting community.

First of all, there’s the fabric obsession. Quilters will go to great lengths to get their hands on the perfect fabric for their latest project. They’ll travel to the ends of the earth (or at least the nearest fabric store) to find that one shade of blue that perfectly matches their vision. And once they find it, they’ll hoard it like a dragon hoards treasure.

Then there’s the cutting phase. Quilters may look calm and collected while they’re cutting their fabric, but don’t be fooled – they’re secretly plotting their next move. That perfectly cut square of fabric? It’s not just a piece of fabric – it’s a weapon. If you get on a quilter’s bad side, watch out – they might just start throwing quilt squares at you.

And let’s not forget about the stitching. Quilters are meticulous about their stitching, but they’re also competitive. It’s not enough to make a beautiful quilt – it has to be the most beautiful quilt. Quilting bees can quickly turn into cutthroat competitions, with quilters trying to outdo each other with their precision stitching and intricate designs.

But perhaps the craziest thing about quilting is the terminology. Quilters have their own language, and it can be downright confusing for outsiders. What’s a fat quarter? A jelly roll? A charm pack? It’s like a secret code that only quilters understand. And don’t even get me started on the abbreviations – WIP, UFO, HST… it’s enough to make your head spin.

But despite all the craziness, there’s something truly special about quilting. It’s a way to express your creativity, connect with others, and create something beautiful and functional. So the next time you see a group of quilters huddled together, cutting and stitching away, just remember – they may seem crazy, but they’re also making magic with fabric and thread.
